Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, Al moved to NYC and began work in sales with IBM, Time Life and then the Museum of Natural History. Ever entrepreneurial, he then opened 2 pub/restaurants on the Upper East Side in the 1970s. However, a series of vacations to the sub-tropical climate of the Key West to relax, led him to "seek the good life" and relocate to the fabulous Florida Keys in the 1980s.
While in historic Key West and over a 16 year span Al went to work for Century 21, Coldwell Banker and then, Re/Max. All along, he was commended for his top listing and sales abilities and high ethical standards ... serving several terms on the Realtors Board of Ethics.
So how did he get to "downeast" Maine? Well, summers were very hot in the Keys! A chance vacation to Maine at the end of one particularly long, hot summer, brought him and Denise to Lubec via the back roads, hugging the ocean all-the-way. Two days later they had bought their first house in the area. For the first 16 years "downeast" was a summer place, but for the past 8 years, it has been "full-time" home!
Purchasing Due East from the founding owner nearly 7 years ago, has been a dream come true for the couple ... opening the Lubec office in May of 2003, Eastport in December 2003, and Calais in June 2007. They are proud of Due East's achievements and service to the community, ... and their entire roster of "outstanding" agents and staff. |
